Re: Thin Prep versus PapSureFrom: Ron (ainsron@sbcglobal.net)Thu Sep 27 12:05:35 2007
I actually use Sure Path, I wasn't in the office when I answered yesterday. I haven't had problems with its use/interpretation. I feel that liquid based smears are a great advance over slides. Many times I would get back a notice that it couldn't be interpreted due to air drying. I also can't remember how many times I was out of fixative in the room and had to repeat the smear because it had dried before my assistant returned. The convenience of needing only one container for pap and GC/chlamydia is greatly appreciated. Many times my transport media for chlamidia was out of date in the refrigerator and I couldn't due the smears when I needed them. -----Original Message----- From: ob-gyn-l@obgyn.net [mailto:ob-gyn-l@obgyn.net] On Behalf Of Larry Glazerman Sent: Thursday, September 27, 2007 6:34 AM To: Multiple recipients of list OB-GYN-L Subject: Re: Thin Prep versus PapSure My sentiments exactly. I've been using TP for years, in fact, the pathologist at one of the hospitals I used to use was involved in the original clinical trials, and we participated. I haven't seen any evidence suggesting that Papsure is better. Larry R. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
