Presently the CNMs in our practice are insured under our corporate malpractice as employees and this has worked without problems until recently when the hospital has informed us that this may not be "adequate". We are waitng for clarification from them. In other collaborative practice in which I have worked the midwives were included under the corporate umbrella as employees. On talking to our carrier they say that individual CNM insurance is not "unusual" - ofcourse they stand to gain from this!

What do y'all do in your collaborative practices?

Thanks in advance.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
