Group, I have a 32 yo G4P2012 at 36+1 wks with pseudomonas in her urine. She had this previously and it was multidrug resistant and she was admitted for gent and found to be allergic. It has since returned with sensitivity this time to amikacin, ceftazidime, cipro, tobramycin, meropenem, zosyn. She is essentially asymptomatic now. She says she has an feeling like something might be going on with her bladder, but she denies fever, chills, back pain, frank dysuria. She has been seen this week for irregular contractions without cervical change. What would you do? Admit for IV? Go with cipro since it is the only po drug on the list, knowing its potential risk? Deliver and let ID handle her and peds handle the baby? Thanks, Glen

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
