Bernard: Well said. Dan and others make good points, and I do clamp the cord for a segment if I have any suspcicion, but don't if the baby comes out screaming (unless it was meconium, bad strip, bad vibes, etc.). I sure like to have a pH of 7.0 or 7.1 or greater in my charts--can't hurt! Garry

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
