Would need a lot more info to say. My first line for N/V is pyridoxine and doxylamine, but if she has hyperemesis, that may have been tried already. Also, she needs to have someone discuss the pros and cons of using category C meds during 1st trimester, as most of the meds for N/V are category C. She should call her OB back and tell him or her the same thing you just told us. Anna Meenan, MD

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
