Steve.... Hey, friendly spell checker. I'm still embarrassed over my issues with accept and EXcept;). Have to blame it on those darned international schools. Haha. I've been amused at the 'elephant in the room' phenomenon occurring re: VT and gun control. Maybe we are all just sick of the whole thing. Heart sick.... and overloaded with the media barrage. I know that I am probably not 'qualified' to hold this opinion, BUT... here I go again (God bless America;). If ONE sane person had been packing heat when that rat started killing the innocent... the story may be different. Yeah... maybe more would be dead. Maybe not (the Utah Muslim rampage at the Mall is a good example of where a gun on a good guy came in rather handy). The guns are not the issue. The people are. Right? I've been hesitant about hand guns for along time. After this latest episode.... my husband and I are purchasing them and learning how to use them effectively, should the need ever arise (as it did at VT). AND... should the political powers that be aspire to erode our rights to bear arms and defend our homes and families (candidates on bothe sides would support this measure). For safety or control???? I wonder. Papua New Guinea and Belize have strict gun laws (aka: they are illegal(PNG) or highly difficult to obtain (Belize)). Simply put, only the really bad men who want to kill you have them. They are not afraid of killing you, so breaking a gun law ban is no biggy. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
