Re: Pill and breast cancerFrom: ainsron (ainsron@sbcglobal.net)Tue Apr 24 16:26:30 2007
On the other hand in a recent study an increased risk of breast cancer was reported with the use of OC's especially if these are used before the first full term pregnancy. [Ron] The association between use prior to first pregnancy probably relates to the fact that early child-bearing and breast feeding (20% reduction) both have been associated with decreased risk of breast cancer, especially premenopausal breast cancer. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
