Funny you should mention that about the foley. I did an LAVH about 2 weeks ago. Now, granted, I haven't done anything more than take the ovaries before, so this case I went ahead and made a bladder flap, exposed the uterine arteries just to see if I could. The vaginal part went very easily. I took a final look with the scope and then closed up. The urine in the foley had been clear and the bag 'normal' up until this point. I should mention that I forgot to remove all the gas before hurrying and removing my trocars so I tried to squeeze out any excess gas through the incisions. By the time we moved her to the recovery bed, the foley bag looked like a Jiffy Pop Popcorn bag. It was the oddest thing I've ever seen. The bladder was completely deflated when I looked with the scope. She has done well since without any sign of bladder injury (hematuria, pain) Odd? Glen //SIGNED// D. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
