Re: You've done enough surgery when...From: Dr Eberhard Lisse (el@lisse.NA)Sun Feb 25 14:12:26 2007
First one was taken 2007-02-19 500 Second one was taken 2007-02-23 2800 U/S done 2007-02-23 Well, I went and did the laparotomy (remember, the sixth). Massive adhesions to the abdominal wall, and an injury to the bladder roof occurred. Not too big and and I sutured it in two layers vicryl. Managed to enter the abdomen, and no free blood in the Pouch of Douglas, but massive adhesions of the uterus to the abdominal wall. The right adnexa was one big mass, with a dark masss in the right overy, probably corpus luteum, but I'll report the histology. I did report that the hospital didn't have any Formalin left, didn't I? Left adnexa totally normal, I couldn't even see the anastomosed area. Laceration of 1.5 cm length on the anterior wall of the uterus, probably from an adhesion, but I didn't see it tear off. As far as I could explore the bowel no sign of ectopic. The morning after the laparotomy the b-HCG had dropped to 800, so we'll check again. She is not bleeding from the vagina at all. That's not one lady I want to operate again :-)-O el
