Re: Failed tubal ligationsFrom: Joanne Bulley, MD (islesannie@gmail.com)Fri Feb 9 06:45:21 2007
We had one patient in my old practice that had her TL at C/S - with pathology confirming that there were indeed 2 segements of tubes sent to them. She had an intrauterine pregnancy - carried to term and had a repeat C/S. The TL LOOKED PERFECT!!! There was no possible way to figure how that fertilized egg / blastocyst ever made itws way to the uterus. She chose not to have a TL revision. I think her husband had a vas. In this patient - I would agree that is was ectopic by the quants and offer MTX. As far as future fertility - why not a Mirena? The efficacy is better than a TL. Or an Essure. Now I will read the others suggestions. I am probably suggesting something that others have! Joanne

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
