Re: Difficult twinsFrom: GIN11153@aol.comSat Dec 30 19:06:56 2006
I've always seen twins delivered in the OR with a double set up if mom refuses scheduled c/section in case of cord prolapse, abruption, etc. In that case, informed consent in great detail is needed for a vag delivery. But in this case, could you have given nitro or terb to relax the cervix and uterus, to immediately get the second baby out in light of severe fetal distress? No time for a crash c/section without the double set up really. I assume from your description the second twin died? The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
