Re: ABOG Board Recertification TimeFrom: Dean Huffman . (dean@thehuffpeople.net)Sat Dec 30 11:38:08 2006
.. They say that they will send the list of articles and questions at the beginning of January, April, and July. In practice, however, they ususally come out about the middle of the month. Advantage of the ABC is that it gives 25 or more CME's for successful completion. Good for those who need the CME's. ALso, does not involve travel and can be done at one's leisure. Most important -- they give a deadline some time in Spetember. The answers MUST be in the ABOG offices by that date. Not MAILED by that date, rather RECEIVED at ABOG offices by that date. ABOG recommends using Fed Ex, USPS next day delivery, UPS, etc. with a registered receipt. - - - - From: "Joanne Bulley, MD" <islesannie@gmail.com> Subject: Re: ABOG Board Recertification Time Date: Dec 30, 2006 12:17 PM I am registered for the ABC - I first certified in 1987 - took the written recert in 1997 and now have to start the ABC. They have my address and never have sent me anything - I have been the one to contact them. Interesting that to register to take the ABE you have to sign a statement that says your Board Certification is not to be required for credentialing or something like that (it is on my desk at work) yet the hospital year requires you to be board Certified within the time fram specified by your board ... I found that very interesting. I am now waiting for the list of articles etc. I know that some of youare doing the ABC already - when do they send out the list of articles and exam forms? Joanne

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
