Re: HydroxyprogesteroneFrom: Andrew Folley (agfolley@hotmail.com)Wed Oct 25 07:24:56 2006
Glen Wedgewood Pharmacy at 800-331-8272 is one source. It used to be about $125 for a 10cc vial providing 10 doses. For what it is worth, we have been using alternate delivery forms for giving the progesterone Specifically. we have been using prometrium at 200mg po bid at 20 weeks till term and some are even using progesterone cream ie Prochieve 4% daily application. The studies on these two sources are not yet in but many question the validity of the 17 oh progesterone studies in terms of whether there is a true reduction in premature deliverines. I consider this the art of medicine. andrew

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
