Re: epidural and foodFrom: S. H. (lastfrontiermidwife@yahoo.com)Mon Sep 18 21:31:59 2006
When I have transported women in labor to hosp from an intended out of hosp birth, the anesthesiologists will frown at the idea my ladies have eaten in the last few hours, but they still do the epidurals. For the 11 hours it took me to complete Ironman Florida I know my digestion didn't stop, and it was a heck of a lot harder than labor :) I didn't eat many solids though (didn't really want them---and neither do most women in active labor) just my $0.02

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
