Re: SUI postpartumFrom: Joanne Bulley, MD (islesannie@yahoo.com)Sat Sep 16 09:05:39 2006
Thanks Joe. I have been there- having operated "early" - and caring for the woman who was avoiding surgery even though I really thought it was indicated. The early operations had much more blood loss -- and I was totatlly amazed at how much resolution of symtpoms and some of the anatomic changes occurred with appropriate exercises and the old "tincture of time" over 12 moonths or so. Each one is an individual - and the work up and recommendations do have to be indivudualized. The question was asked about whether to wait and how long to wait - and I voiced what I had seen and experienced in my own practice. None of the interactions I had with the individual women so affected was ever paternalistic. So watch it with throwing around such jargon. Joanne

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
