PCOS and ASA

Our practice had a patient recently transfer care in the 3rd trimester. Prior to conception had diagnosis of PCOS. To induce ovulation she was placed on Metformin and baby aspirin (ASA). She conceived and after perinatal consultation was recommended to continue on the ASA. I can see no other indications for either the ASA prior to pregnancy or during her pregnancy. Is this some new cutting edge therapy that I'm unaware? Please enlighten me.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
