Re: staples at C/SFrom: Garry E. Siegel, M.D. (garrys@mindspring.com)Mon Jul 31 21:24:39 2006
Dan and others: I've always been a bit reluctant to remove staples before 3 days, unencumbered by data. I've looked a bit, and really haven't found anything that says 2 versus 4 days. Obviously, in a transverse skin incision, there forces are such that the incision is well approximated. Steri-strips? I've always used these because someone taught me to do so. Garry

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
