Re: Need help writing a medical business planFrom: Lynn Montgomery, MD (apgar10@qwest.net)Mon Jul 31 12:07:22 2006
Gail, I used a software package that walks you through the development of a plan for two major projects and it worked very well. It was relatively inexpensive and very comprehensive. Lynn _____ From: ob-gyn-l@obgyn.net [mailto:ob-gyn-l@obgyn.net] On Behalf Of GIN11153@aol.com Sent: Saturday, July 29, 2006 2:31 PM To: Multiple recipients of list OB-GYN-L Subject: Need help writing a medical business plan It looks like I finally found an OB/GYN to be the medical director of the OB clinic I have been working on opening for almost 2 years!! He wants me to write a up a business plan, even though he will have no financial outlay( my dad will lend me what I need so I don't have to pay bank loan interest). I have found sites that have samples and ideas for making a general business plan, but I need ideas on the medical aspect, such as medical equipment needed(exam tables, meds, salaries of medical assistants and receptionists. When I told him that I was planning on paying a medical director 7% of the clinic income, he said that was too much!! (he drives an old car and lives alone). Can anyone offer advice or a sample of their business plans to use as a guide? Figures that 2 weeks after I start a new job as Director of the Birth Center at 2 sister hospitals 3 miles apart, my dream of owning a clinic might be coming true. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
