Re: Endometrial ImplantFrom: Joanne Bulley, MD (islesannie@yahoo.com)Wed Jul 12 14:57:05 2006
I have a case similar to Gordon. First excision done under local. Second - went to main OR with general anesthesia. Before the anestheisa we outlined the area of complaint with one of those permanent markers. I did not have to do as extensive and excision as Gordon describes but I did include fascia with a very wide margin around the lesion. I was able to pull things back together without using mesh and she has been fine for 3-5 years now. So - both of us suggest a very wide local excision. I am not sure Lupron would have the best effect. But if she wants to try it, there would be nothing wrong with a 6 month course. Joanne

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
