Re: 24 week-erFrom: Garry E. Siegel, M.D. (garrys@mindspring.com)Mon Jul 10 21:31:21 2006
FWIW, one of my hospitals, Northside in Atlanta (17K deliveries/year, all private) has a specific form that must be filled out by the attending OB for anyone in this age range. It specifies: EDC as assigned by the Ob (to avoid confusion) The DATE the gestation hits 24w0d--and on that date, resuscitation occurs unless a Neonatology consultation has happened and there is a reason NOT to (e.g. lethal congenital anomaly) Between 23w0d and 23wd6, also specified on the form, there must be a plan to resuscitate or not, and generally this involves a Neonatology consult and note. All in all, this is a good idea. Garry

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
