The pediatricians want the mom to get at least 2 doses of antibiotics before delivery. We usually start antibiotics when the labor starts and limit vag exams. If PCN allergic our alternative is also Clindamycin. Vicki Smith, CNM, MSN West Virginia Midwives- changing the world one baby at a time.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
