Laurie Huh, that's odd. My husband has worked for AARP for over 4 years, and that's definitely not true. Membership is limited to those 50 and older or employees (and if they remain at AARP for 10+ years then their membership is allowed even if they leave the company before they are 50). Also, spouses are eligible even if they're not 50.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
