I wasn't surprised that in was in the US - just I had believed that episiotomy were necessary with a forceps, unlike with a vontouse, so was a little surprised that it could be attempted without an episiotomy (but then I'm a) a midwifeyr student and obviously someone who uses forceps is going to be more knowledgable and b) have never seen forceps being used in a vaginal birth (they got out the packet once for a breech birth, but then reg used MSV instead) Claire BSc Midwifery student

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
