Criminal liability means that some law was broken; civil liability means that someone was harmed and the "harmer" is being sued for damages.

I assume Dr. Modugno is indulging in a wee bit of sarcasm. One need only google "manslaughter physician trial" to find plenty of instances of criminal prosecution for medical procedures gone awry.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
