In the "Finger-pointing after high-risk birth" case, 1) Are OB's not obliged to attend if called? 2) Are nurses not permitted to INSIST they attend? 3) Is it reasonable to expect a diagnosis over the phone or by fax? 4) How many on-call OB's are there for each hospital? The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
