What the 'in crowd' fails to understand is, 'my ox today, yours tomorrow".

Remember this quote re: Nazi Germany?

First they came for the Communists, and I didn't speak up, because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up, because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up, because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak up for me.

You know, the fault for all of this lies with us. If we don't like it, we simply take a leave of absence from the hospital that agrees to submit to this kind of 'blackmail'. If the staff were to unite and en masse take two or four weeks leave until the hospital had the testicular fortitude to say 'no' to such nonsense, the problem would be solved instantly.

How does it go..."I have met the enemy and it is us"

Yeah, but the guy having trouble is almost NEVER with the majority of the "in crowd." Therefore, there's no way for him to follow this strategy.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
