Follow up on a case I posted this in Fall 04.

I just heard from this patient.

She e-mailed me this past week:

Diagnosis: Huge Lipoma compressing inguinal and femoral nerves. She saw someone in Minnesota who got an MRI (probably due to size / past lack of diagnosis and nerve compression)

Has anyone ever seen a lipoma in the are of the mons / femoral triangle?

It seems to me this was one of the zebra's that had to cause more symptoms before getting the "big" test -- of the MRI.

Of course she has been dealing with the mass for several years - and understandably wonders "why did it take X years and 14 doctors before someone finally did an MRI and made the diagnosis"
