We rarely had anyone ask for narcotics after a vag delivery when they took the ibuprofen as ordered. . If they did, I would sometimes come in to make sure there wasn't a hematoma or something weird going on. I've never been able to order 1200 mg since leaving Hermann Hospital. Even so, if women are given 800 mg. in the delivery room, they rarely ask for narcotics. It's a hassle now, with all the meds in a Pixis machine and no access for an hour or so, unless they've been ordered on admission. ********************************************* Kay Johnson, CNM Duluth, GA "Life is too important to be taken seriously" Oscar Wilde *********************************** -------------------------------1144973374 Content-Type: text/html; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> In a message dated 4/13/2006 6:56:28 P.M. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
