Re: Problem patient- VBAC --> new direction (long)From: Charlie Chambers (ricechaz@gorge.net)Tue Apr 11 13:55:06 2006
I would chime in that most OB's are supportive of VBAC in the right environment. I know that a huge number of women would like better access to VBAC. There efforts would be more productive if finding ways to reform our current medicolegal climate in the USA not proclaiming MD's to be unsupportive. Try to find another means to improve medical care than civil litigation. Put on paper. People are more than willing to proclaim that they will accept responsibility for the outcome until something bad happens. Change our current environment then women will have nothing but choices as to where to go and have a trial of labor. Any and all of us are one lawsuit away from being unemployed even in situations where no medical malpractice occurred. I'm just suggesting that women's efforts would be better put to use in other avenues. Can you imagine the effectiveness of pregnant women marching on the Capitol for reform?!! The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
