Re: Gyn: Submucous fibroidFrom: ENDODOK@aol.comThu Mar 23 14:45:21 2006
`Concur with hysteroscopic resection of fibroid and the endometrium, then rollerball the raw myometrium. Her amenorrhea rate will be in excess of 70% ( Arnie Kresch reported 1 year amenorrhea rates of 85% using this technique). Global ablation will not give this high a rate of amenorrhea. The clamp/cut/tie procedure is a major surgery, hospitalization time 2-3 days, full recovery 4 weeks. Resection/ablation is 30 minutes, home in 3-4 hours, full recovery in a day. J. Glenn Bradley MD

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
