Is anyone else seeing a shortage of Nubain? Apparently the manufacturer that we are using has ceased production of Nubain. As a labor narcotic, I think we can find a replacement ie Stadol, Demerol or morphine without any problem. Other than benedryl, I'm not sure what else can take the place of Nubain for postop itching, especially for patients that have gotten Duramorph. Any suggestions? Glen //SIGNED// D. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
