I don't think that there is any role for pre-scheduled C/S antibiotics for GBS, but our nursery has requested that we test so that they will know of any positives in that patient population. Considering how often they pull our fat out of the fire, I am happy to assist them.

What do you think of GBS testing when the patient will have a planned repeat ceserean? Do you do it in case of PROM? Do you then wait 4 hours prior to c/sec? Thanks, Ingrid Gold, CNM --------------------------------------------------------

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
