I may be wrong, but I don't think the original post was not only about death, it was about risk. Even though PPH may be infrequent, it can have other consequences (additional surgery, hysterectomy) and each of those carries there own set of long term risks. Had that 1 in a million PPH NOT been pregnant, she may have still never had surgery, still had her uterus etc.

It is true, she may have been hit by a car and killed (my only postpartum death-6 months after giving birth) but we all have that risk...men, women and children.
