Not so fast Gail - the plaintiff with a good lawyer, with "good expert witness" and the presence of the “crippled client” can easily win the case – believe me!!

Og course, I over simplify. But I can't believe that anyone you try your best for will bite you in the bum when, despite doing what they wanted you to do or not to do, it goes pear shaped. From a code of conduct point of view I wouldn't get into trouble with our governing body the NMC if my record keeping is of a good standard and from a hospital point of view I would have limited the liability. I wouldn't get sued though, it would be the hospital. Different culture!

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
