Re discussion about African herbal medicine/witchcraft ....

This reminds me of a great book I read a few years ago which I highly recommend, by Richard Dooling, "White Man's Grave," about the Sierra Leone, tropical climate, bugs, infectious disease, African tin pot dictatorships and westerners, idealistic young affluent western Peace Corps volunteer types, politics, lawyers, witchcraft ... Dooling's comparison of the witchcraft doctors and American lawyers was highly entertaining. Dooling also wrote "Critical Care" which I thought was pretty good. He was a Peace Corps volunteer turned respiratory therapist who worked in many settings, so he got the hospital/health care culture down pretty well, until going to law school.

Grace nurse, who will not go to tropical countries after reading that book

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
