Emergency ContraceptivesFrom: LCLEMOS@aol.comTue Mar 7 12:27:35 2006
Ok, to improve the tone of this discussion today I actually have an OB related question: When prescribing BCP or other hormonal birth control, do you give the client or patient a prescription for EC with appropriate teaching as well? How about for barrier methods? (Does anyone still do diaphragms?) Do you have an agreement in your state with the pharmacists to provide EC? Do your Emergency Department docs prescribe them for rape victims? If you are in a Catholic institution, how is that handled or not? Thanks - inquiring minds want to know, I said I'd ask. Laurie in ME.. headed for ocean to walk dog...

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
