The important issue is what do you mean by “respect” – vs. “formality” – Juanita is, of course , less formal than Juana – but no less respectful .. the diminutive implies more intimacy or familiarity with the person… I myself like diminutives.. starting with my parents whom I called Papito and Mamita – other form of implying closeness is shortening of the noun – like “ Tere” instead of “Teresa” – on old names like “Encarnación” – you can often hear “Doña Encarna” and so on – Saints have sometimes the same treat, for example, “Santa Teresita”— I may call you- with all my respects I assure you, either Robert, Bob, Robertito, Beto – Hasta luego, :) Efraín – Ef

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
