Re: South Dakota law bans nearly all abortionsFrom: RModugno@aol.comMon Mar 6 15:50:30 2006
In a message dated 3/6/2006 5:41:27 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, apgar10@montanadsl.net writes: The good, good ole boys in Houston told me that back in the day, they admitted two septic patients per night from illegal abortions. The treatment was to complete the evacuation or remove the uterus, followed by triple antibiotics and DOPAMINE. Will certainly give the training programs some lessons in gynecologic infectious disease, ultrasound or laparoscopically directed D&C and emergent hysterectomy, not to mention critical care medicine. Lynn That's about right! In South Africa we also used to do an antibiotic peritoneal lavage for generalized peritonitis. Hysterectomies were pretty easy - could do 'im virtually with your hands - it's amazing how Lysol coagulates the blood vessels! Robert Modugno MD MBA FACOG Marietta, GA

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
