If appropriately applied over the Traction point and traction is applied in the appropropriate direction, i.e. 90 degrees from the plane of the cup. the Kiwi is, IMHO, without a doubt the best. I have also used all of them over the years. Again, IMHO, the forceps work best, i.e. fewer failures. All the studies comparing the two show no diference in failure rates(15% for forceps & 15% for Vacuum). I have done over 1000 forceps deliveries in 42 years of practice and have only had 3 cases of failed foprceps( a lot less than 15%).. But as Art says, "I could be wrong" Dan

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
