There is a whole raft of literature on Misoprostol in 2nd and third trimesters, but Mifepristone is a whole different story. Perhaps you should also check up on which drug you are talking about.

I'm doing some research on the drug 'mifepristone' for the university. I've already read alot of literature on the subject abortion and the pill as such (effectiveness, pro's & con's as well as legal issues). What I didn't find was information about usage of the drug in 2nd/3rd trimester abortions for medical reasons or malformations. Does the substance in the normal European dosage of 600mg (I know that there are studies in which 200mg were used) have lethal effects on the unborn during the whole period of the pregnancy ?

Looking forward to hearing some professional information.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
