Exactly, most women will know in their heart of hearts so I don't subscribe to the notion that women, American or otherwise, don't know when they're in labour. I always ask the women I care for if, deep down, they think they're in labour and they are seldom wrong. That's why I do very few v/e's as long as mum and baby are doing well I don't meddle. If things deviate from the norm then I make a new plan of care with the woman and document it in her notes.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
