Bladder and Bowel QuestionFrom: Lynn D. Montgomery, M.D. (apgar10@montanadsl.net)Tue Feb 14 11:31:09 2006
32 y.o. nulliparous female comes in with complaints of stress urine loss with pretty much any activity. In addition, she also has involuntary loss of flatus. The problems began two years ago and have gotten progressively worse over the course. Exam reveals normal appearing anatomy without any anatomic defects and UV angle well supported. The patient is not obese. Urologist examined the patient and concluded that the urine loss was likely "anatomic", despite noting a normal exam and decided not to perform urodynamics. He recommended deferring any surgical treatment until after childbearing. I have a concern regarding the facts; this is a nulliparous woman, the symptoms are progressive and involve two "perineal" systems. Any comment or suggestion? Lynn
