Re: CA 125 of 103From: Joanne Bulley, MD (islesannie@yahoo.com)Thu Feb 9 06:34:49 2006
I did not have the report with me when I posted: CA 125 done when no resolution after second US (6 weeks apart) in a 46 yo woman to help decide whether to "sit" or look. US #1 left ovary simple cyst of 3 cm, second smaller cyst with septation. small amount (physiologic) free fluid in cul de sac US #2 R ovary 9 mm simple cyst L ovary several small cysts possibly with septum. No free fluid "no significant change - bilateral ovarian cysts, more numerous on the left, with of septation" So ... since she is 46 I was deciding do I just go to Lapscope or not and ordered the CA 125. My plan - is Chudacoff's: scope / wash / LSO and if needed refer to Onc. Our oncologist is 65 miles N: and that is 1H 15-30 minutes away. When they had more than one they would come down here occassionally to operate. Joanne

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
