It's the same for us here. UK midwives cannot prescribe drugs but provide under standing orders.

Medicine by it's very definition is the science or practice of the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease to exclude surgery. Pregnancy is not a disease so how can a midwife be guilty of practising medicine without a license when we don't? But then I'm here and you're there...

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
