It's not just that legally its hard - but the skills are being lost - and a whole generation of new OB's etc will never have seen a planned breech birth, so it wont be as safe as in the hands of the experienced. We have to figure out both how to get those skills back, and how to address womens needs without putting practitioners in an awkward position. But we shouldnt just say 'hey, it happened - we cann't go back' - that is poor science and not evidence based medicine. Yes I do know that the climate is different in different countries - but we have to make that start somewhere.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
