Does anyone know about prescriptive privileges for CNMs in Illinois?

Grace, if you go to the ACNM website you can get this information under "Legislation and Health Policy". Then look at your specific state fact sheet. Currently the information states: CNMs in Illinois have prescriptive authority per a 1998 statute.

I don't know if the ACNM website is up to date or not. My gut feeling is that there will probably be something more recent. But your ACNM State Legislative rep should be able to give you the latest up to date information. Ours is BJ Snell. I don't think she ever sleeps. She knows all the bills forward and back and can give us up to date info.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
