For real identification - how about HUDSON HAWK, or SNATCH? Can't say that I know a lot of people that had seen it. It's definitely one of those polarizing films. Either you loved it hated it. No tepid responses to that one. NO it is NOT OK for a teenager to have sex - for the most part they do not have the emotional resources, maturity to handle sex and it's ramifications. Just as they should not be driving, or handling guns, using drugs, etc. They are still growing up, still maturing, and while physically and physiologically they may be up to sex, they certainly do not have psychological wherewithal to handle it's multifaceted ramifications (not the least of which is a baby). This sex free-for-all is all to evident in our inner city OB populations where female teenagers are having children, male teenagers are nowhere around to take care of the "new family" leaving that chore to the 20 somethings grandmothers, while they shoot themselves up. As an aside, I hear there is a new "craze" going around in UK - resurgence of debate clubs. While I have not been stellar in debates, I love to spectate debates! I hope this migrates to US. Rafael C. See above. el on 1/9/06 4:20 AM Joanne Bulley, MD said the following: There is indeed a vocal group in the US that thinks ANY discussion of sexuality other than "just say no" will make "girls" have sex ... of course it is never the boys fault. Those groups really do not understand that the US has twice the unintended pregnancy rate of other industrialized nations (UK - Can - France etc) and that a good part of that is due to this push at the middle - high school level to have a head in the sand attitude while all TV shows and movies have a constnat barrage of sex so it looks like it is fine to do it whenever / no consequences / minimal consequences. We don't teach responsible sexuality. We don't teach that it is a wonderful part of being human that deserves special consideration and to be treated with honor. So, yes, there are those groups here in the USA that think that because God said Don't Have Sex Before Marriage and Go Forth and Multiply .... I will stop there!
