Saw Ingrid's post and just have to note that in the last two days have seen three public assistance pregnant patients who delighted in showing their new camera equiped cell phones....in each instance the patient paid cash (350-498 $'s) since their current contracts had more than a year to go before they were eligible for a free or reduced cost phone upgrade. Kinda' deja vu, with the memory I have of a public assistance patient who eagerly upgraded to digital when it first became available in competition to analog service....extra cost involved was of no concern to her. When I asked how much extra the digital service cost, she noted she couldn't tell 'cause she used so many minutes she always had over two hundred dollar bills, ... and that was about seven plus years ago.

It's a shame our system allows the irresponsible to sup at the same public funds on which the truly needy depend. However, start mentioning means testing, etc. and those who most loudly call for increased public programs usually dig in their heals on any such kinds of assessments or restrictions.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
