Dear Dr. Jayant: Yesterday I was taking with my students (first grade, Medical Faculty) about the impact of three forces in the new medical-patient relationship: 1) now, the patients must be seen as client than a pasive patient, ant the clients are changing, they are more informated. 2). The competitors are more aggressive, and 3) there is a remarcable change in health services and their interactions with health services providers and the clients. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
