Re: 3 L.A. Hospitals Take Patients to Skid RowFrom: ainsron (ainsron@sbcglobal.net)Mon Nov 28 15:14:58 2005
It really isn't anything new. I remember as a medical student (1973) in Portland Oregon, indigent patients who were brought in from our skid row (the Burnside district) were discharged in cabs back to skid row. Ronald E. Hospitals Take Patients to Skid Row So what? I mean, according to the President (and the majority of the American public who voted for him), we don't care about these people, do we? All WE want to do is pay less taxes. The natural consequence of less taxes is government, and the result of less government is less services. Less service means exactly that...no place for these people to go. So, again, so what? The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
